Yesterday TT in Cantabria 48 km (with a small climb)

I´d like know the opinion of Evans about this (in spanish papers he said that Contador is a rival easy to beat)

Bertie does again what he been doing all his career.............thats is winning or doing well against the clock on long and short courses. Looking good for next week for him.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -

Sorry but Evans wouldnt have said that, beside being a stupid comment i dont think ive seen Evans say anyones an easy beat. Whats a bet this is a lost in translation misquote. I would say Evans can beat Bertie in most TT but not by much.Take care of the luxuries and the necessites will take care of themselves.0

I don´t know if is a bad traslation. In Spanish the article said:
"SERÁ INTERESANTE VER CÓMO RESPONDE ARMSTRONG, YO NO LO DESCARTARÍA"

Cadel Evans se encuentra más motivado que nunca para conquistar el que sería su primer Tour de Francia, después de dos años quedándose con la miel en los labios tras las victorias de Alberto Contador y Carlos Sastre. El australiano confía en su buen estado de forma y se congratula por no tener el cartel de favorito, además de señalar que el de Pinto "es batible".
Depués de terminar segundo en la pasada edición del Dauphiné Liberé, por delante precisamente de Contador, Cadel Evans parece haber recuperado su confianza para poder ganar el Tour de Francia. El australiano así lo comentaba en una entrevista concedida a la web cyclingnews.com.
Sin embargo, no dudó en elogiar al equipo Astana. "Sobre el papel es el equipo más fuerte en la historia del Tour de Francia. Si mantiene la misma forma que ha mostrado en la primera parte de la temporada, será muy difícil ganarles". Y es que el equipo kazajo se ha reforzado de lujo con las incorporaciones del siete veces vencedor de la ronda gala, Lance Armstrong, además de Chris Horner y Yaroslav Popovych (éste último llego procedente del equipo de Evans, el Silence-Lotto).

Cadel tuvo buenas sensaciones para la gran carrera del año. "Será un gran espectáculo. El plantel es fantástico y todo promete ser especial. Sin embargo, desde el primer día habrá una gran selección entre los favoritos, pero me gusta mucho el recorrido de este año".
En cuanto a su preparación, el australiano se ha instalado unos días en Sierra Nevada. "Ya he recorrido todos los finales de montaña de este Tour, ya los conozco. Se dice que algunas etapas de montaña no son tan duras como de costumbre, pero esta carrera es siempre difícil. Ahora mismo todo son especulaciones y lo único que sé es que promete ser un gran Tour".
Cadel Evans también quiso valorar la participación de Lance Armstrong en la ronda gala. "En el Giro no empezó al nivel que los aficionados esperaban de él, pero era normal. Yo también he pasado por una rotura de clavícula y sé como es recuperarse de una lesión así. Sin embargo, él se fue recuperando en el transcurso de la carrera y ahora será interesante ver de qué es capaz en este Tour de Francia. Yo no lo descartaría".

El líder del Silence-Lotto se muestró muy ambicioso de cara a sus aspiraciones. "Soy un piloto muy agresivo. El año pasado me tocó luchar con tres corredores del CSC (Sastre y los hermanos Schleck). Mi trabajo es hacer todo lo que pueda en el Tour, no estoy aquí para dar espectáculo. El Astana parece no querer darme ninguna concesión y eso es bueno para mí. Significa que ellos mismos piensan que Contador es perfectamente batible, y yo también lo pienso".
Evans se acordó de la pasada edición del Dauphiné Liberé y de la participación del madrileño. "Esperaba más de él en el Dauphiné, pero ahora será diferente. Tendré que estar muy atento siempre y responder cada día". Pero el australiano está encantado de no partir como claro favorito. "Ser el favorito afecta a tu vida personal. El año pasado, el 13 de febrero, se supo que iría el Tour. Al día siguiente, el Astana quedó excluido y me pusieron como claro favorito a ganarlo. Me pedían cantidad de entrevistas y perdí muchas energías. Sorry he says "perfectamente batible" no just "batible", could you translate it? (it´s no the same, in spanish "perfectamente" is quite similar to easily)

it's pretty clear from the translation that evans said "perfectly beatable". this is just an emphatic way of saying beatable. it doesn't really have any bearing on how easy the beating would be, just that it is possible.
it certainly doesn't translate as easily beatable, (although I can see that for the beatability to be perfect, it might need to be easy, hence the lost in translation problem!). i don't speak spanish, but I suspect that "perfectamente batible" is not a good translation of "perfectly beatable" if it can bear the meaning you give it victor.
basically, all the serious contenders will believe all the others to be "perfectly beatable" and would not hesitate to say so.
some of them will believe some of the others to be easily beatable. I think they'd all hesitate before saying so though (especially evans!)0 -
In the latin languages, we like our adjectives. "Perfectly" is not a superlative as it is in English, it can simply mean "really". As in "I really think he can be beaten".0

Anyway, it´s no easy to translate, i ask to a translator and she is in doutb between:
Contador can be beaten perfectly well
or
Contador is not invincible

I think youll find its the second one, in fact im pretty certain that ive heard him say just that. Contador is certainly becoming that all round rider if he could only sprint
