Trail rides Cardiff / Newport
Due to changes in my job I am now spending 1 or 2 nights every other week in South Wales, I usually stay in hotels around Cradiff / Newport. But I have been thinking there must be some hotels around some decent off road / trails/ etc in and around that area.
Can anyone recommend some decent off road riding that have decent hotels close by, the plan would be to spend the day at meetings then do a bit of riding late afternoon then hit the bar for a few beers and some dinner - then back to meetings the next day!

Cwmcarn mtb trails is very close to Newport, it's off J27 of M4 motorway, go pass Risca town and it's about 1 mile on, excellent trail centre, I have attached a link for you to see as listed below:-

Thanks, looks like just the thing. I'll do some googling and try and find some suitable hotels
Are there any other similar rides without so much climbing!!0 -
there's a holiday inn express just off of junction 27 with a pub next door that does alright food and cheap drink. only 10 mins drive to cwmcarn mtb centre.
if you're riding on your own give us a shout, a few of us go there in the week. after work0 -
Take the taff trail in the centre of cardiff and go to castel coch, so alright trails up there.0
