Do I strip or sell?

I am asking here in special interest rather than over on the MTB side of things because you guys really know your stuff....
I have a fairly old steel tange Focus MTB with various Deore LX components. The frame is however A-headset so may be more interesting than other old steel frames.
I know I could sell the cranks and rear mech for a bit, but I dont really want to split the bike up
Is it worth anything as a whole bike, or will it just be vanish with all the other old bikes?
were focus bikes any good back then, because I can see it making a great SS bike.
