A very strong team. Hincapie, Eisel, Renshaw and Burghardt there for Cavendish. Monfort and Martin should be interesting to watch in support roles for Kirchen and Rogers.0

Greipel is gonna be p1ssed. Again.___________________

Adam Hansen missed out
Rouleur, strong in the Chrono (Aussie TT Champion), has done the dirty work for Cav in the Grand tours...0 -
Surprised at Barry!

Looks about what I'd expect. No way was Greipel going - you simply don't need two lead sprinters. Just reading Cav's book tells you all you need to know about what he thinks of Hincapie, Burghardt and Eisel, while Renshaw is the best lead-out man in the book IMHO.
The other four pick themselves really, although Rogers is going to have to step up to justify his place.
It's one of the problems of having a 'super team' - some people have to miss out...just ask Astana!!My cycle racing blog: http://cyclingapprentice.wordpress.com/

To be honest, I'm more interested in this confirmation.
Liquigas’ nine man team for the Tour de France will be:
Daniele Bennati,
Vincenzo Nibali,
Franco Pellizotti,
Roman Kreuziger,
Fabio Sabatini,
Aliaksandr Kuschynski,
Alessandro Vanotti,
Fredrik Willems
Brian Bach Vandborg.
Nibali absolutely destroyed an elite group of chasers on some tough climbs in the GP Appenino on Wednesday."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Elite by category blazing, look at the results for if he did it in style, half of his breakaway companions aren't even in teams that would qualify for the Giro.
The cyclingnews.com podcast had it right, Columbia could field A and B teams quite easily. You could have Barry, Hansen and Greipel plus more and they'd field a quality team. I can see why Ciolek left and suspect Greipel might want to do the same.0 -
To me, the surprise was leaving Hansen at home. Including him would have all but guaranteed Columbia the TTT stage (though they'll probably win it anyway).0
