Does anyone know whether British Cycling Silver Member Insurance will give me 3rd party cover during the Etape?
I was under the impression this cover doesn't extend to competitive situations and I was just over on the Marmotte insurance thread, and learned that the Marmotte is classified as a race by law in France, so wondered if Etape is the same and hence insurance is invalid?

Well it's a sportive, so it's a race. French and Italian sportives have a single mass start and classifications with people racing for the win.

Wouldn't the Etape itself have insurance? I've just got travel insurance (dogtag).

I recall that last year you could buy/upgrade insurance in the registration area/village.0
