Hi
I bought a averlanche 3 last year, i managed to bugger up the thread in the eyelets for the pedels, I took it back to the LBS and i managed to get them to fix under warrenty...
I recently bottomed out on the big chain ring which smashed the little plastic bash ring. I am now looking for a new bash ring, most likely a e.13, but my chain rings have got 6 bolts and I cant seem to find a e.13 with 6 bolt holes (I think my LBS have replaced the chainset with a completly different one) as when i looked up a photo from GT the chainset only has 4 bolts.
This is the chainset it should have its a suntour XC i think
and this is the one that is currently on my bike

Unfortunately you cannot fit a bash gueard to that chainset.
The plastic ring was a trouser guard, and they are uselss lol.0 -
Ok no problem I'll just leave as for now and replace when it breaks. Just wondering whether my lbs stitched me up though and replace the chainset with the wrong one, might give them a call and challenge them0

Nah, it was a spec equivalent really, just a different bolt pattern.
As you buggered it up, they did you a favour!!!0 -
Yeah true I'll just leave, but thanks for the help0

I'm glad you decided to leave it as is. This was never a warranty claim and you were taking advantage of the good nature of your LBS in the first place. If you backed your car into a bollard you wouldn't expect a new bumper under warranty. Moaning that they didn't fit exactly the same one that you broke would have been ripping the ar$e out of it!0
