Clever. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
yeah, looks like a good idea.
Would be good if they could get 'BIKE!' projected in massive red letters onto the road behind the bike. Why has my sig been removed by the admins???0 -
Interesting!
Now edit that title so has no caps lol.0 -
i like it,0

It's a good idea, and one which could evolve further. May show me up a bit when doing the 1 in 4 hill near to home, I start to wander by the time I get near the top and run out of legs, would hate to see straight illuminated lines either side of me just to prove how rubbish I am at keeping a straight line.Ridley Orion0

Thats a brilliant idea I like it, howver I don't think it will stop the twats who think it's funny to get as close as possible, well he has got a dinted door now0

Why cant i think of something like that, seems really simple and would have been the type of thing to see on dragons denTrek Fuel EX 7 29er 2014

Bloody good idea!
It's always the 'so simple, why didn't I think of that' ideas that are the best.
I like it, simple, but clever!0 -
I'd want the line a bit further away from me!!!"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

A brilliant idea with one fatal flaw.
It doesn't take into account that 75% of cage drivers are half-blind f**k-wits who couldn't see a cyclist if the cyclist was in the car with them.0 -
I thought it was going to be a pint glass holder for your handlebars with built in telescopic straw.

Im not sure how its projected but i can see a few problems.
Diffrent frame sizes may have diffrent spreads plus pannier bags, will the stop it from projecting0 -
it has 2 leds on a regular light cluster, so frame sizes should effect it too much. aslong as you can mount your light on the seatpost! very good idea, but i think some adjustability could have tried to have been incorporated (presuming they didnt try) as people have wider bars/bike/arses than some people, and some might like a bit more space! propblem is i dont see motorists taking any notice of it, or, they will go "ooh pretty green light" and then run you down!Trek Remedy 7 2009

Other than having funky neons on your bike I doubt this will have any preventative measures at all. It's also not really that noticable. It's a nice design though and an interesting idea.
But I'm out,0 -
If the retail price comes in at £30 as planned, then its a no brainer. Its a fantastic Idea, and I can see how it would catch the attention of a motorist and subconsiously force them to provide you with a little more space. If It cost little more than a decent normal rear light, what have you got to lose?
On a side note, I'm sure the majority of the forum users are also Drivers, and I for one am getting a little tired at the constant bashing we get from hard core cyclists. FFS we get the idea, your vulnerable, I know, I ride on the road too, but as a driver I can predict the bad habits of either party and deal with it. MTFU.0 -

and the other 25% would see it as a challenge to get a wheel across the line

then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it

A few reflectors/reflective material would do the job much better for much less money.0

I will definatly buy one of these for the winter commute if it is available. You can never be too visible IMO, especially if you take a route on unlit roads!Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)

agreed, it wil be like those flashing lights under cars.
next they'll be wanting spinners :roll:0 -
that is probably the next best idea to the SRAM powerlink....brilliant0
-
I think it would be better if the light was flashing - maybe like a runway light?!
As sonic says if if projected 'bike' or a bike symbol, like in one of the earlier posted links it might help with visibility
Also dont think it's strictly necessary on the kerbside - just the side with trafficTrek Fuel EX8 090 -
Is it really a good idea? Honestly?
Surely more reflective clothing, and perhaps a decent 3watt rear light would suffice. These only appear to work in really dark areas, not so much dimly lit areas....
I think if i were to put these on my bike it wouldnt be long till i got bored of them and adapted them with say red an amber leds, pointing just off my back tyre and one on the front, al la fire lines! wooosh!
Plus there is one major flaw with this idea... How on earth are you supposed to ride home bladdered without the old bill noticing!0
