Hi , keen to put toe in the water , and have a go at a 10mile TT for the first time in July/August.
Done a handful of Sportives this year (Cheshire Cat 102/Brian Robinson/Spud 100/DLMC midi), but fancy having a go at something different.
Have been on the road on a recreational ride around Chelford the odd time, when the guys and gals come past on their full aero bikes and clothing, so I suppose that would be as good as anywhere to start.
Does anybody know where I can view a local TT calendar? And what do you need ,or need to have, to enter an event ?
I would just be using 'standard' road bike without any aero kit.
thanks and regards

Macc Wheelers have a club 10 on a Wednesday night. Starts at 7pm. There are often non club members riding. It's £1.50 on the night, just turn up from 6.30ish, pay and ride.

just trying to break 30 mins.

J9/6 Pyms Chair , owwww , know that climb well from jenkin's chapel, wouldn't fancy racing up the bugger tho ! :shock:0 -
Congleton CC run their TTs on a Tuesday night, usually on the JC/5:

dont do ours then! not a fast course at all.0 -
IMO JC/5 is faster than J2/1 because it has a long downhill after the start that you don't need to climb at the finish although it is a touch lumpier overall. Always find the start of J2/1 hard because it rises slightly and the tendency is to go too hard, too soon. The Manchester Wheelers course is a much tougher proposition and not one I would tackle if I wanted to build up my confidence.
Remember this is about having fun and the only person you need to compete against is yourself. Don't be put off by all the Darth Vadar gear. It's quite possible to do some really good times on standard equipment.
Good luck.0 -

Whilst I totally agree, if you can do decent time on it you know you're going well!
If they ever resurface salters lane you'd gain 30 secs!!0
