I recently bought a wheel with a Mavic X221 rim. Now my last tires were 2.1 in size, yet Mavic supports as a standart only smaller ones, as i managed to measure out. I can't find info on the amplitude of sizes it can support, and i am worried about the safety of my ride. I managed to install my old 2.1 tire, but i noticed that the bit where the tire switches from smooth to rigid on the side of the tire, right by the rim, is sticking out a bit. I guess it's a sign that the tire is too wide?

Hope i explained clear enough.

Should be ok upto a 2.3 really with its 17mm internal width, but 2.1 is ideal.

So just because i can slightly see the divisional line and some rigid bit of the tire, it doesn't mean it is too big?
