Cycle routes in France

My son and his mates (3) want to go and visit their Grand-dad in Dijon (France) on bike and don't know where to start (starting at Caen). Where can I find cycle/safe routes for them to ride once they get off the ferry, and adequate campsites. Ambitious I know but the exuberance of youth needs advice prior to putting them off biking for life and it is outside of my knowledge! Thanks for any advice (in advance)

Go to Traces VTT you can then put in your options, it gives IGN and google maps plus gps.

It's about the most in depth MTB route site I've seen
