They have fitted a star-nut, removed a freewheel and one guy sat and helped me fit a tricky bashguard, all for free!

They also sell alot of components at a competative price to online shops such as Wiggle and CRC, including £40 for my Avid BB5 brake last year.

The shop is Samways in Derby

Eeeeerm, well i work at mine, so for me it is pretty good...

But before that the mechanics used to open the workshop on a sunday so that I could come in and service my bikes, and they taught me to build wheels.

today i picked up my frame which i left to have the headset faced and fitted, and the BB faced and was petty happy at being charged £12...

Basically done the jobs i don't have the expencive tools for - was expecting to be stung for £30 at least so pretty happy with my LBS.

Gave me 13 months of free servicing when I bought the bike, covering essentially anything that doesn't require new parts, e.g., they'll true my wheels, bleed brakes etc as and when they need doing.

They're also letting me experiment with the stem length/rise on my bike (purchased 2.5 months ago), had three different ones on there now and this is all free.

Bike was almost $300 less than RRP too.

They gave me a years serviceing free, give me discount here and there, are fantastically friendly and helpful. They know their stuff and will just say here have it if I pop in for small bits. They even trued my wheel for free.

My LBS is better than yours because.......it is owned by a madman who, if he doesn't have a part will offer to weld it "Out Back!"

..the counter and workshop are actually run by guys who love mountain biking with a passion and are friendly and helpful to ALL customers.
Provide sound advice on all matters pedaling and mechanical
Trued my front wheel in under 5 minutes while I waited on a busy day.
Have undertaken work on all my bikes that I just cannot fault
Have decent items in the shop, not the cheapest by +- 5% but they are convenient

It's Cyclesurgery in Filton, Bristol and I stand by the fact if their tech guy left the workshop, I'd take all my business elsewhere..

Is that 30% discount based on the size of your bike techs hampton?

    Nope! :D

It's cause I'm in the Army, and we have a very, very good deal with our LBS. Sometimes, it's bloody good being a squaddie! (But sometimes it's sh1t too - just about balence, and right now, the balence is goooood!).
