Big up for Merlin Cycles

While it's generally easier to have a moan about the crap service you sometimes get from online bike shops I just thought I'd say that dealing with Merlin Cycles has been quick and efficient. I put an online order in on Monday morning and it turned up in today's post. I know that this should really be standard practice if things are in stock, but rarely does this happen given the vagaries of the post office, computer systems and general bufoonery at the retailer's end. Both times I've ordered with them it's turned up within 48 hours. Magic. And no, I have no connection with the firm.

I've just ordered from Merlin for the first time so reading the above is good news.
Also impressed with their prices. Ordered a cassette and chain for the same price as the cassette alone on Wiggle and CRC.
Merlin for me from now!Whyte 905 (2009)

Damn right on the price too, cheaper than Ribble on a lot of stuff and that's saying something.0

Quick and free service to France too. The prices are very good as well.0

But, like many of these on line shops their info is out of date or not accurate. Read this for example:

Centaur™ 2009 QS™ front derailleurs allow riders snappier and lighter shifting. They need to be interfaced with the left-hand Ergopower™ QS™ controls and are available in two versions: for standard cranksets and for compact cranksets. Merlin rock !
I bought my MTB from them a few years ago, it's still going strong.
Last week ordered a set of Shinano M520 pdeals - £20, that's half price ! What's more, they arrived in the post the very next day :-)Misguided Idealist0 -
I've had 2 MTBs from them - they are good. Great value.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

just like to say i'd agree - I had to return a saddle and some pedals after both failed after relatively little use and they were quick to call me back, advise me of suitable replacements based on my riding style and then despatch the replacements to me.

+1 for Merlin. Cheapest pedals I could find delivered really quick.0

+1 for Merlin!
I've used them for years and still have a set of Mavic wheels on my MTB (Orange Clockwork) that have stayed perfectly true throughout many years of use. 8)
...and they've always been pretty quick and reliable on the mail order side too.
I just wish they did a little more road stuff than they currently stock.Cycling weakly0 -
Had a few heavily discounted items from MC all with prompt delivery , no issues and cheaper than anyone else - all you need for a good online shop0

They've been pretty good to me overall - the only issue I ever had was when they sent me through an alternative tool kit to the one I'd ordered (it was out of stock) without contacting me first. I returned it which incurred some cost but it wasn't what I wanted... It happened about a year ago. Since then I've used them a couple of times with no issues...0
