06:30 this morning my external thermometer showed 16.4 degrees celsius  It was on the shaded side of the house, so gawd knows what it was in the sun

By the time 06:45 came 'round I was at the bridleway and a sweaty bag of crap.

Flaming hell - that was a warm morning commute! 8)

It was close to perfect this morning coming in from SE London :D
Sunny, warm, no wind, and almost no traffic on the A200. is it school holidays or something?

Indeed - I was trying to work out where the noisy wind was coming from, then glanced across at some flags and realised that they were completely limp

This would explain the higher average speed this morning (and hence the noisy wind :D )

...and here's me thinking my new "aero" positioning was working wonders....

Fantastic conditions today - sun cream may be needed on the way in soon!

+1 thank god for girls headbands (£1.17 for 3 at tesco)

I had to take my arm warmers off halfway this morning - what a fantastic invention I saw a bloke in town with a fluo winter jacket on -

Sod warm. It's bleeding boiling out there! :D

Just got back from a short walk to Sainsburys and my shirt is sopping wet

    Good news, glorious sunshine
Bad news - the wind has picked up
    GREAT news - it's a TAIL wind! Woohoo! :D 8)

I may have to extend the commute home tonight. Weather like this has to be appreciated.

Anyone been out for a lunchtime ride? Looks lovely, and I'm stuck inside a sealed aircon office :(

Thank your luck stars you've got aircon - I've been weiging down the hge mounds of paper on my desk this morning so I can have a fan on, and it's noisy by the main road, bloomin emergency services, they could be a bit quieter about it :?

    Weather conditions: too hot
    Status: sweaty.

I think me and whyamihere might have been down that last night. Is it the one from the top of the cross roads down into brereton? 41.7mph scrubbing the brakes all the way down

Run in today was WARRRRRRM ... thought it was cold as it was a bit windy and looked like it might rain, so had the showerproof top on ... mistake!

It's now tipping it down, but exactly the same temp ... still bright though so hopefully it might clear before the ride home.

Thankfully my window is open and my fan is on full, and it needed to be after comming back from the gym at lunchtime!

Can I recommend an indoor/outdoor thermometer, or better yet, a weather station?

I have one, it's fab for choosing what you wear.

    That's the one :D

That was part of my 50 mile circuit when I was a Student at Stafford. I had a self built 'racer' with a 53 / 11 top gear. I would start winding up at the cross roads and be hitting 40 at the TOP of the hill.

I'd be praying that no one would do anything silly while tearing down and always tried to spin out in my top gear - which with that GI is a bloody silly thing to do :D

Got one - that's how I knew the temp this morning. More useful in winter when you are trying to work out how many layers to wear

I wear shorts and tshirt all year round. Only extra I wear in winter is a buff and hi-vis vest (due to the dark mornings and evening)

That is true... I find it predicts rain/no rain quite accurately as well, which is useful.

    Or, there's always:

We might be married to the same woman.

As for "how warm," this is also known as "too warm" for me. I hate it when it gets over about 20 Celsius. I get hot and irritable, my office gets like an oven, and I find it hard to sleep at night because I'm sweating and sticking to the bed.

    Roll on winter.

Scorchio. Was 19degrees when I left @6.30am this morning, 9 miles later thought I was going to pass out when I got to the office.
