Hi all, currently use a pair of Shimano MT31 shoes for both commuting and MTBing, am getting hacked off with having to clean them every time i go out on the road bike as they are covered in mud from the weakends antics, so need to buy a new pair of shoes, dont want to spend a great deal of money to be honest as im a tight bugger! any recomendations?? commuting on a specialized allez with M520 pedals.
Was contemplating just getting another pair of 31's or possibly the 32's but not sure

Hi Chopper,
I used these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7610
£50 and have been brilliant. I've got the M520 pedals too, so are compatible.
I've only just stumbled on this post, so if you want a quicker response on the forum, just add it to the general commuting areaGiant Escape R1

I bought myself the dhb M1 SPD shoes from wiggle. Set me back £45 and I love them. Dead stiff sole, I don't feel the pedal through them at all, just the feeling that I'm stuck to the pedals. Can't compare them because they're my first pair, but I'm chuffed to bits with them.

Thats them. I got the black ones. They look infinately better in the flesh, than that picture though.0 -
Specialized MTB shoes like this on (£54) fit like a dream - I have the next one up (has 2 velcro strips and a ratchet rather than 3 strips) and it's stunningly comfortable and easily stiff enough.0

I have the Specialized shoes above and they are great.0

I have some Shimano MT41 shoes to go with my 520 pedals. Very comfy, but had to order them three sizes bigger than my normal size to get a good fit.0

I'm using a pair of CRANE SPORTS MTB shoes from Aldi. Cost next to nothing and I find them really comfortable, the sole is as stiff as some road shoes. Work fine with my M520 pedals. Great set-up for the daily commute.0
