Buying from Merlin/Commencal Normal Disc..any opinions?

I think i've finally decided which bike to buy. I'm pretty new to biking, and the new investment will be used for my daily commute and some weekend trail riding. I've had a look around and from my very limited knowledge, have come to the conclusion that the Commencal Normal Disc for £350 from Merlin seems a great deal?

Can anyone reccomend a better value buy on a budget of £3-400?

Does any have any advice, opinions or experience of buying from Merlin?

Damn you, I'd just about plumped for the GT until I saw those pics!

Including delivery, the Commencal is an extra £100...is it worth the extra money?
