.... don't do what I did today and put on contact lenses after putting cream on my pad. Even though I had washed my hands I forgot its quite hygrophobic so it all didn't wash out. It hurt!

  • Not so sure that's a warning about Assos cream. More a warning about personal hygene and contact lenses

Don't put them in after using deep heat is all I'll say

I think he means hydrophobic
  • My cycling mucker swapped my assos cream with a tub that was mixed with deep heat (same as Ralgex). I smelt it soon as I took the lid off though so no ring of fire! :D

  • Here's another tip.

When travelling, it's often a good idea to transfer a small amount of your chamois cream into a smaller container, rather than taking the whole tub. Travelling light is good, and a small empty pot of Fudge Hair Putty is just perfect for the job.

However, when you return, always ensure you either empty any remaining chamois cream from the pot - or keep it with your cycling gear.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU LEAVE A HALF-FULL FUDGE HAIR PUTTY POT OF CHAMOIS CREAM IN THE BATHROOM NEXT TO YOUR OTHER MALE GROOMING PRODUCTS

It isn't a good look.

I filled an old film canister with Assos cream and I keep it in my saddle bag. Just in case I wipe a load of it off if "nature calls" when I'm out and about

Ah, i see there is witch hazel and menthol in the ingredients. One or both was responsible for the stinging!

I will try to be more careful in future....

In the old days, when I was playing football, an old guy used to give the players a leg rub before the game. One day he lifted his sons cough medicine as it was in the same sort of bottle as the liniment, and he preceded to rub it into a players legs. Once the player nearly lost all the hairs on his legs, only then did the old guy realise his mistake!
Don't know if the liniment cured the cough though!
