Carrera Fury - chain question

Hi

A couple of quick (probably stupid) questions. Finally managed to get a Carrera Fury last week and im building up a bit of kit to take out with me on rides. Ive read about these powerlinks which are handy to have in case of chain trouble but want to clarify something...

Are the powerlinks just for SRAM chains?

The front and rear mech on the Fury are both SRAM so am I right in assuming that the chain will also be SRAM ?

If I do get a couple of powerlinks is it worth splitting the chain and adding a link now before I encounter a problem or just leave them in reserve ?

Cheers

You can use them with Shimano chains, personally I prefer the wiperman connex links I just find them easier to undo and get back together.

You chain may or may not be SRAM but whatever it is will work fine.

It's upto you, I split my chain when it needed a good clean and once it is split it does make cleaning easier, degreaser in and old drinks bottle chuck in the chain shake it about and rinse off.
