For somthing that is designed to be soft and gentle on your baby's backside these things can't half shift some things. So next time you get a chain rash on the inside of your calf, don't bother trying to wash it off, just get a baby wipe ...... think I may try it on the chain it's self tomorrow ...

You're about to find out quite a lot of people use baby wipes in their chains, and their babies (bikes that is).

Guilty of the above, makes cleaning a bike in a 1st floor flat a doddle. Not used them on myself yet as I'm too old.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Indeed, they are a work of God.

Now I have nightmares of them being banned or discontinued!

Soon the highest mountain in Britain will be in Essex and be composed entirely of used baby wipes covered in a thin layer of soil and grass seed.

Personally, I wear long trousers at work and worry about the calf tattoo in the evening.

I should probably sort out the one on my forehead though.

wow, well i was Jk about the chain but I may now give it a try

What other things to people use that are not designed for what you use them for?

Cheap ketchup and cheap full fat coke on unlaqured ally, the acid cleans the surface. I used this on the carbs of an old motorbike I was doing up.

They're a godsend for getting those infamous black dots off your calf.

They're also brilliant and getting the crap off the BB part of the frame, as every time I try it with anything else it just moves around or ends up with more on.

Though there was a topic a while back - don't they make your seat go sudsy next time it rains?

Top things, though. Muc-off do their own ones now btw. A wee sachet with a muc-off impregnated wipe. 60p though!

I just ignore them until they eventually go away. Work don't seem to mind.

They're also great for cleaning up the various horrors that babies and small children are capable of...

The Commander uses baby wipes on his bike as well. I have taken to using them myself to keep my bike clean as well

Mind you he discovered the use of baby wipes 20 odd years ago when he first joined the Navy, in very common usage among engineers by all accounts for cleaning engine parts and themselves

Baby wipes have their limitations. For example, they do not remove chain oil from the carpet at the top of stairs. Or the carpet in the dining room.

Neither will baby wipes remove the heavy black marks under each eye once your wife/girlfriend/mother sees oil marks on her carpet!

Thankfully I don't live with the Commander so don't have to worry about oil on the carpet and such like. Mind you he treats his bikes better than his car. all his biked live in the garage while the car dosen't get a look in and lives on the driveway
