You know what.....I do. I didn't know they existed until too late in the day, but it's exactly what I'm after.
Plus I'd feel dirty when I rode it :twisted:Giant Escape R1

Assos has been known to hand out free mitts at bike events as a gateway step to get users hooked. The initial rush of comfort and conform quickly wears off and users step up, perhaps a branded bottle, perhaps a wicking t shirt.
The downward spiral has begun and before you know it they are strung out on replica team kit, mainling chamois creme, chasing the pack dragon and robbing the joint acct on the sly to feed their bib short habit.

Padded lycra? Didn't you put up pages and pages of arguments about not wanting to wear it? Or was it not wanting to go commando.... :x

Well you shouldn't! Take solace in knowing that if you go to Richmond Park all the men standing around you will be commando...

As said before, the day when I can afford to have enough shorts and manage my time well enough to wash them all after they've been used once each, maybe I will. I had quite a gross argument for why I won't be dirty and wear them commando-style more than once, please don't make me repeat it!0 -

You can't wash them, it will take away your mojo and go fast magic - everyone knows this.Fixed gear for wet weather / hairy roadie for posing in the sun.

Come on chaps, I've had no help here at all!
I ask a simple question and it suddenly gets hijacked about cycling in the buff, which obviously I do appreciate. However, we have loads of threads about that, but I couldn't find anything on the old hybrid/roadie issue. I was thinking along these lines...
It's almost exactly a road bike, but with proper handlebars.0 -

Looks good, although if it's almost exactly a road bike, why not put drops on it.
If your not confortable with drops, then something like that would be ideal, although I will still recommend a road bike after spending a year on a hybrid."Bed is for sleepy people.
