anyone going?

My kids want to see me do the public ride on the circuit - and they want me to wear the replica Specialized team jersey they chose for my my birthday - this means my first lycra'd exposure to my workmates -the office is practically on top of the circuit - I think I can feel a bad back coming on

    There's a genuine pro-race at 7pm 10 teams of 5, 1 hour of lapping the town centre.

You an ride the circuit at 4pm but have to pre-register.

Personally I'm beside myself looking forward to the 2 highlights of the days programme - 12.30 "watch the mayor fall off a bike outside Town Hall", and 12.55 "delivery of the new cycle route sign"

I was at the blackpool event (and won the workplace challenge race!!) - the pro-event was really really good - my eldest daughter and I stayed til the end to watch it - she is only 5 and was really taken with it all so I thought she should stay up and watch it (encourage them and all that!)

i really enjoyed it - they are sooo fast it's unbelievable - brings home the gap between us "enthusiasts" and those "pros"
  • We found out about it on Wednesday and drove down from Norwich, just in time for the start.

I was amazed at how fast they went and how close they got to you as you leaned over the barriers. It was thrilling.

We wandered around the support cars afterwards, drooling over all the bikes.

We had a great time and are thinking of driving the 100 miles to Southend-on-sea next Thursday.

Went to the Stoke on Trent event last week.... really fantastic racing, great atmosphere, real entertainment... I would suggest anybody get along to watch, even if you arent into sport... you can get so close to the action, makes a great change from football or motorsport

I found out about it the following day, which was annoying otherwise I would have gone. Might be able to make it to Southend for the final...
