chain size ?

ok heres the deal . i bought a single speed kit (gusset E1 micro) and my old 8 speed chain didnt fit (the links seemed to short). so my friend give me a chain that fits , what size would it be ?

    the same size. it is a standard size.

    i guess you mean 1-ER micro.
