Hi all,
I've got a Manitou Swinger 3 way shock (2006) in my Giant Reign.
the rebound circuit has just suddenly stopped working!
I was setting up my forx so just lightly bouncing around the street, why my bike started doint its best pogo-stick impression.
I've tried releasing all the air form the main chamber and cycling the shock gently from end to end. The rebound damping works for maybe half the stroke after being bottomed out, but not at any other time, and not for the entire stroke.
Does this sound terminal? Is it a job i can try and do myself or is it go without a bike untill i can afford to send it to TFtuning?!
I'm sposed to be heading to Afan the weekend after next...!
Cheers in advance!

sounds like a lack of oil.

hard to say without taking it apart.

I've had no signs of loosing oil, the shaft is almost too dry if anything!
how hard is it to check the oil level, or is there a dodgy cheating way of doing an oil change without opening it up? like through the air ports or something?!
    cheers

I have a PDF copy of the service guide for the Swinger 3-way if you want it (PM me your e-mail address), but be warned they're a pain in the @rse to get into unless you've got decent tools.

Personally, I'd whip it off and send it to Stendec for a shim-stack conversion (they remove the SPV mechanism and tune it to your individual riding style and preferences) and service.

ideal, cheers for that dave, i'll do that in a sec.

that doesn't sound like such a bad plan! who are stendec? i've never heard of them! It does sound good though, i never use the SPV in mine. The maestro linkage is so good i dont need a platform, n always run it just over the minimum pressure.
