I'm going to build myself a brick BBQ frame & am looking for the metalwork,(trays, brackets etc)
Does anyone know if these are available from a major DIY outlet,or will i have to order through the internet?
Cheers in advance

Try a second hand shop that sells cookers etc, bound to have some spare oven shelves or grill pans. If not there, try the local CA site.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I used to work in the security fencing trade and some locals in a dubious nottingham estate used to gut squares out of our brand new security fences for their BBQ grills.

Yes,there are some 'nice' people about!
    To press,have tried B&Q,but they've discontinued them :(
I'll try Wickes & the like,& if no good, then will strip down my old BBQ as a donor

I got some at B&Q at the weekend £29.99. If they've stopped making them it's still worth shopping around 'cos some have stock.

It'd be better if they included the bricks.

one tip if you buy the kit, when building use the rack as a guide and not the bottom tray (instructions said the bottom tray), for some reason when I built mine the bottom tray was slightly smaller than the grill, so when I came to put it together I had to get the angle grinder out and grind two grooves so they would fit. If you look at the photo you can see that I tried to move the brickwork a touch....

Build up a base using thr bricks to a reasonable level, with a cement finish for the coals to sit on, provide air holes at the back. Find somewhere that sells steel plate, build it into the barbie. Not as instant as a grille, but when it gets hot it will stay hot for quite a while and give a good cooking surface also for onions, potato cakes etc. Very Australian!

You could also have a smaller plate, build it into a corner, and get hold of some metal mesh and use that for the other side.

One of those chappies with a big bag of charcoal and a grill on the top work a treat! A bit off topic and probably not very economical but i didn't believe my brother 'til i saw it 8)
