Getting my track bike ready for the Autumn/winter commute.
Are Navigator pista alloy wheels (#150) suitable for road riding as the hubs are sealed? Does it make a difference to breaking/rim life if the sidewalls are not machined? Is it a stiff wheel set? are the rims strong enough for road riding? Any views?

I bet they're stronger than most carbon race wheels. They'd be fine outside.
however, I don't think it's a good idea to brake on non machined rims though, they won't brake very well in the wet.
So I don't know.0 -
I wouldn't worry about non-machined brake tracks - for years rims came unmachined and you simply had to wear off the anodising with braking. The hubs are probably the generic Formula / System Ex track hubs which use sealed cartridge bearings and are simple and cheap to replace.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
