I've got a couple of pairs of their Earnley shorts and they've been OK for such a budget line so I would assume that the more expensive Finchdean ones should be good. The pad is good quality and well shaped.

Had a pair of dhb Finchdeans since April - very comfortable in the seat and the straps are very soft. Can't comment on how they compare to the Assos but for the price they are good value. Sizing, I bought medium and I am 5ft 9, 34" waist and 30" leg. Perfect fit, highly recommended.
  • I've had some Finchdeans for a few months and they are very good. Can't compare to Assos as I've never had any of those. I would buy another pair.
    I bought a large, I'm 6'1", 35" waist and 33" leg. Fit well.

The Finchdean bibshorts are comfortable and the chamois is excellent. As for quality - after a couple of months the leg gripper split from the shorts when I was putting them on. I stitched them myself and have had no further issues since. I'd still buy them again. As for sizing, I'm 5.10", 32" waist and got a medium.

I've used a pair of Finchdeans for a few months now and am really pleased with them. The gel padding really soaks up the vibration and they're very comfortable.

I'm 5ft 8" with a 30" waist and the small size fit me fine.

I have Finchdean bibs, and hate them.

I can just about tolerate them for four hours or so, but a couple of weeks ago I did a 200km sportive, and much of the second half was spent cursing those bibs.

Chamois cream helps, a bit, but the chamois still feels like a piece of cardboard to me, and never sits comfortably.

Am just about to order some Assos F1 Mille. I have these already (as winter tights) but decided to economise on bib shorts for the summer. Big mistake.

Apparently lots of people like the Finchdeans, but then people are different shapes.

I have the normal bib shorts, 3/4 bibs and winter bibs. All very poor in my opinion.

If you can afford to spend a little more do so, it will pay off in the long run.

The lycra seems poor quality and the pads seem nothing more than a bit of felt.

I've got two sets of the Winter bibs, and the quality of them of seems pretty good, but the pads are a waste of time, they would have been better off being unlined.

Personally I'd save my money rather than buy the dhb shorts.

Obviously fit is personal but I'm very happy with mine, can't compare to Assos though- these are the most expensive I've ever had!

But bear in mind when you're asking if they're "as good" that they're half the price.

These dhb Finchdean shorts are the same price as what I paid for my Assos shorts, so I'd avoid them personally.

    £65 quid?!

No thanks - I've never had these though but I would get some Santini Gel pad ones or Assos for a bit more.

I've got Finchdeans and Santini Ice and the Finchdeans are easily as good as the Santini ... similar prices, very similar levels of comfort and quality.

Reddragon - I've never owned a pair of Assos but would be willing to give them a go. Can you show me where you can get them for the same price as Finchdeans pls?

Ribble, but you won't get them for £65 now. 12months ago I got a pair of Milles and Unos for £60.

I tried some of the dhb earnleys a while ago, and was not that impressed. Not tried the Finchdeans, but as with all wiggle gear at the moment, they are no longer the budget, VFM option like they used to be.
From a personal point of view I find Impsport shorts are excellent quality, great fit and great value, and they are really helpful as well.

I have a pair and the only problem I have with them is that there is a bit too much material around the arse so they're a bit saggy (not actually saggy but you know what I mean).

They're still comfortable though. Next time I buy shorts I'm going to get Assos though.
