Good. Keep the kids OFF the trails, I say. Saves having to pick them out of the tyres... :shock:0

Children are the future. Which is why they must be stopped now.0

Hey you lot, im a youngster in the teenage years and I love Mountain Biking. I would much rather be out on my bike than on a games console.0

I have a Wii and a bike. When I have a job, there may be problems...0

I have a Wii, a bike and a job and I juggle it all. You will be fine. Come on all you teenage bikers! Lets hear ya!0

Aah.. the PlayStation generation.. I guess it's easier to do laps in GT3 than it is on the trail.
However, to be honest a lot of kids still appreciate a nice bike..
As for me, well I prefer PCs to game consoles and prefer Macs to PCs and prefer riding to being online or fragging people on the virtual battlefields all day.. if that makes any sense at all..0 -
Blame the parents! I was never allowed to ride a bike as a kid - when everyone else was taking their cycling proficiency test, I was still on stabilisers. Until the age of 11. I wasn't allowed on the roads, only around the garden, or on the pavement if I had one of my parents or my brother with me. My mother was convinced I'd either be hit by a car, or snatched by a paedo. Or possibly hit by a car driven by a paedo.
I think the problem is that a lot more parents think like my mother nowadays.0 -

The guardian - see how it is all about riding in cities, commuting, cycle lanes and visiting communities? They wouldn't know an MTB if they got run over by one. MTB is the healthiest it has ever been in the UK. Which is good for MTB.
And that good awful fecking pic they used, that would put me off for life it I thought that representing cycling!0 -
Cant keep my three in the house never mind in front of a games console
They love dh and every weekend you can see them crashing down dh tracks in the mid wales /shropshire area.
They are all better than me !! thats what really hurts
see link below to see what We did at the weekend

When I was a lad a had an Amiga - loved it, played it loads! But I was out all the time too. Didn't get into biking until later but did all the other things lads did - footy, sports, throwing buds at windows and running etc0

lol Suprised that bikes dont have handlebars with a Triangle, Circle, Square and X with 2 thumb driven joysticks.... lol...
Seriously though - I have a PS3. It's only used in the evenings or when I'm drunk playing singstar!! At the ripe young age of 27 I'm actually fitter and healthier than I was 5-10 years ago!!
i reckon there will be a turn in the tide pretty soon - if its not already happening. More and more people are moving to healthier lifestyles and bids to get fit, reduce their carbon footprint etc.. Since the wife and I had a kid a year and half ago - we have dramatically changed our lifestyle, eating habits etc... This has had a knock on effect with the wee one, where she doesnt drink anything but milk and water, and would prefer a plate of peas and sweetcorn to a bar of chocolate! Give it 10 years time and I reckon there will be a change where more and more people will be preferring cycling and excercise to Wii's and PS3's...It's been a while...0 -

I'm 18 if that counts?
I've got an Xbox but its become more of an antique, I'm always out on my bike - heck I even help coach children to ride their bikes; around 30 of them with the "Go-Ride" scheme in Bromley every Saturday morning!
Don't blame the kids, blame the parents I say.0
