Cyclescheme upgrade

Last year I got a Bianchi Alucarbon '08 for £850. I now want to upgrade mybike using my Cyclescheme voucher for £1000. The only understanding I have so far is that due to exchange rate now, I can only really match my 1 year old bike with the grand. I am limited (seemingly) to independent bike shops in this particular scheme. I really wanted to get a team Carbon Boardman but can't because they're exclusive to Halfords, or Focus Cayo but they're exclusive to Wiggle...neither of which I have access to....was really hoping to upgrade to entry level carbon. Any guidance/help would be appreciated.

Certain shops will let you top the £1000 - to say £1500 ie you pay the difference.

Your are quite right though - you don't get as much for your money this year -

Do you really need to upgrade after 1 year ? - you could always wait and pick up a bargain in the September sales ?

See whether some one will sell you just a frame, (ssh!!) then swap the bits over and sell your old frame leaving you quids in???
