Best advice given to me was go down to a bike shop and try the bike out (different sizes) to see if its comfortable.Food Chain number = 4

Thanks for the answer but that is not possible for me.I will order it from wiggle http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Felt_QX65_2009/5360038869/ cause they are no bikes shops near my area.So if anyone can help i would appreciate it :P0

I'm 5' 10½" with an inside leg of 31" and can ride my 56cm sized Scott from here to the end of the world, which was just outside Rhyl a few weeks ago. Things might have changed since.0

This may not seem helpful, but it's intended to be helpful: guessing your framesize when buying a bike is a bit like spinning the roulette wheel, although with fewer numbers.
Your height's a start, but bike fit is more about your proportions: do you have very long legs, very short legs, or something in the middle? Long arms? And so it goes on.
If you have no option other than to buy blind, try to find somewhere that will let you return the bike if the size is wrong. It will be a fag boxing it up again and paying to ship it, but the cost will be smaller than the hit you'll take offloading it on ebay.0 -
IIRC from when I was looking at buying a bike online - get a friend to help you out with a bit of measuring:
Stick a book between your legs (to mimick a saddle), stand against a wall - get the friend to mark the height of the book - then measure it.
Use that, coupled with your total height as a reference against frame dimension diagrams. Alternatively, just tell the supplier your measurements and get them to make a recommendation.0 -

Phone them and ask for advice, they were very helpful when I bought my focus. Also when you order they will ask you for lots of measurements like inside leg etc and set the bike up for you. I barely needed to change anything when mine arrived. Dont know if they still do this but they also had a thing where if you weren't happy after a week you could send it back free, they even arranged the pick up.
hope that helps!
PS I dont work for wiggle!!0 -
I have the Felt QX85, I'm about 5'10" myself, my frame size is 52cm. I have added a 45 degree 100mm stem and am considering a riser bar to get me more upright as it's a bit of a head down bike in my opinion.
I guess a 55cm frame would make the handlebars a bit higher as the seat would be lower for your height.
Hope that helps.FCN 11, Hmmm0 -
Interestingly, I just looked at the Felt website and I'm damned if I can see a geometry chart.
There is no way to tell if the 52cm is the actual seat tube or the equivalent horizontal seat tube.
At the very least email Wiggle and ask.
I personally think that top tube length is as important as the seat tube which is usually used, particularly with compact frames like that one. I'm your height and I have a 56cm frame (top and seat) and 110mm stem - that is a quite stretched out roadie position.
I guess that you want something a little more relaxed, but try to get hold of a geometry chart and go from there.0 -

Yes, much more important, and the crucial measurement is "effective top tube" (sometimes labelled "EFF"), rather than actual top tube length.0 -
Thanks everyone,i send an email to wiggle and they asked like you said,my height and my inside leg measurement. They said the most appropriate for my measurements is the 55cm frame.0

I order it and they said i should have it by tomorrow.I know is not a very good bike for the most of you but i cant wait to ride it....i will try and post pictures when i have it :P0
