I got a real soaking yesterday....first ones for months!

Good day out though....from Dalkeith to Roslin (up the railway), through the gunpowder mill in Roslin Glen, then up to Flotterstone, into the pentlands, up a couple of peaks, then just as we got back to Flotterstone....shazaaaam black clouds and thunder...then raindrops the size of grapes bouncing 2 feet back up off of the ground!

Ach well...at least it cleared the muggy air!

i love the rain and mud, i go out on a local loop always when it rains. i have a base layer and fleece , with waterproof pants over cotton pants, and seal akinz socks , so im only wet through sweat.

love splashing in and out of muddy puddles , its a bit more challenging in the wet .

If it's raining, and I know I'm gonna get wet, I tend to just get really wet, and wear just enough to keep me warm. No point in trying to stay dry, as no matter what I do, I always get soaked...

Got absolutley soaked on way home tonight, no waterproof. Was clear blue skies when I left this morning.

Why does rain always make me pedal faster?

thought I could go out for a quick spin last night, turned out what I thought was darkening blue sky turned out to be black clouds half way round. Thunder, lightning and hail started about 10 minutes after, sky turned the weirdest green/purple colour I've ever seen. Took an hour to get back.

Worst thing was the other half taking photos of the lightning from the bedroom window thought it would be really funny to record video of me struggling the last 500m, then falling off as one foot slipped on the bloody hail/rainmud slush and I couldn't unclip the other quick enough.
Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

I missed it yesterday by 20 minutes but got soaked last week, so much so that I forgot my own name!

However it did prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that my coat is in fact waterproof, but my shoes are not. :sadpanda:

I wasnt riding butI got caught as well. I was shopping at Fort Kinnairdd (in edinburgh) and on the way home, half of the roads in Edinburgh were flooded slightly (kind of pavement level water) and that was only after about 1 hour since the rain started

into roslin glen from the rosewell road bit....down through the gunpowder mill, then back out of the gates at the sharp road corner, then up to roslin and through the bush estate to flotterstone.
