Armadillos may be puncture proof, but have poor wet grip and feel dead. Bonty hardcases and GP 4 Seasons are not quite as punctureproof, but are a lot lighter and therefore better feel and grip. Krylions are a great training tyre, being fast and responsible, but they're not indestructable. Gatorskins are a joke IME - rubber is too soft and cut far too easily. PR3s and GP4000s are a race tyres and in no way would I recommend them when puncture resistance is the main criteria.
I've just started on Marathons. They're quite a nice ride but they were a pain to get on even in the comfort of my front room (25mm and 28mm) - wouldn't like to do it in the cold and wet by the side of a road. Still if they're as puncture proof as everyone says then I needn't worry!
Been commuting on mine 5 days a week for 9 months without one puncuture - I was averaging a couple a month beforehand. I didn't find them difficult to fit at all. They are heavy though - you do feel the weight when pulling away but they are OK once rolling. I can't imagine anything else offers better protection. Spa Cycles, Harrogate, were selling them for £19.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -
Maxxis Refuse ( 3 years, 1000's of miles 0 punctures - until tonight I guess!!)

I was having the devil's own time with punctures, getting one or two everytime I went out furing the winter due to flint. I then bought these and (shhhhhhhhhhh) haven't had one since. I can highly recommend them0
