Anyone from here doing it? Would be good to see a couple of forumites I've spoken to. I know a couple of our customers are going to be there....

Bit late now, but I did the ride. Was a good one, lovely weather, some nice hills. A very good workout.0

Excellent event/route/signage. Relatively low key. Great one for the family to meet up afterwards as it's centered around the village green and pub with a bbq/stalls etc. Plus if you have any interest in F1 you get to see a very relaxed looking Mark Webber wandering around without the F1 circus!!0

Did the ride yesterday. Fantastic weather, my first sportive went OK despite a painful crash at 70km! Still nursing the road rash, there were quite a few lethal potholes. Well organised event overall.
Will they be posting times on the net (had to rush off at the end)? Also what was in the goody bag? Completely forgot to pick mine up.0 -
An old copy of C+ and some other stuff was in the goody bag...... don't think anybody took it judging by the amount I saw when I got my number
Didn't clock in or out as I didn't care about my time..... just went by the GPS and was pleased with my result.
70kph crash sounds nasty! Hope you are OK. I had a clipless moment when my chain came off and jammed the cranks if that counts?0 -
oops, sorry... no crashed at 70km into the sportive, not at 70kmh! Though was going pretty fast, maybe 35-40kph. Unseen pothole on one of those wooded descents took my front wheel and over I went. The pain of the bloody knees distracted me from the pain of the remaining climbs!
Doesn't sound like I should worry about the goody bag. Was a great day overall though, even if I'm walking a little stiffly today0 -
My fault... I misread. Was gutted I couldn't hang around to have a beer and socialise but I had to get home as I had someone coming from Bristol to buy my MTB. Maybe I'll take a ride to The Stag after Mr Webber has had a podium finish at Silverstone at the weekend0
