What do you wash your Assos gear with and how?

Do you machine or hand wash and do you use only the expensive Assos liquid detergent? Assos recommend a mild liquid detergent so would Fairy washing up liquid be ok? Thanks in advance.

put my shorts in the washbag and throw them in with everything else. non-bio powder, no softner.

2-3 capfuls of Assos Active Wash Cleanser and set to silk setting, stuff into washing machine. takes less time to dry after being in the washing machine than after handwashing and leaving it out on the line.

I use the Assos cleaner - it's worth it for the smell alone.

Machine wash at 30 degrees, low speed spin. Shorts in the supplied wash bags.

You don't need quite as much as they say you do. I refill one of the small sample bottles from a 300ml one, and use about a 3rd of it each wash. This is enough do do two or three pairs of shorts, a base layer or two, a jersey plus gloves and knee warmers.

+1...the smell of that cleaner is lovely. Also it really does maintain the elasticity of the lycra and isnt just a marketing scam......but that aside, the smell....oooooooooooh

I have just bought 3 x F1 Uno Jerseys, 1 x F1 Uno Bibshort, 1 x F1 x Mille Bibshort and 1 x F1 Mille S5 Bibshort and only the F1 Mille S5 Bibshort came with a wash bag, chamois cream and Assos cleaning solution, all in a box. Should the others have had this kit with it as well?

Only the S5 shorts come with the bag, cream and cleaner. So no, the others are correct in lacking it.

It's FI btw (as in I for Insert).

Despite my wife related post I do actually wash all my cycling gear and I use the Assos cleaner because it tells me to. I'm not spending 130 notes on a pair of shorts and risking not looking after them properly!

Besides I bloody love the smell. I wonder if you can buy it as special euro-gimp cologne?
