ok what is it?

when doing the bike fest last week (I'm still knackered and only did 3 hours) I was going up this hill and this young lady rode past me and saw that I was struggling and said "just spin it out."

I was somewhat confused as to what she was on about. I just kinda guessed put the front on the smallest cog and the rear on somewhere in the near the top???

drop down to a lower gear and spin those legs. is what she meant.

but i would have said that spinning out was running out of rpm in any given gear. (mainly at the top end ie, no more gears)

so drop it a cog and spin it out rather than struggling with a higher gear.
