Hello all,
after some other advice that was very helpfully given on here I am thinking to get a couple of pairs of Santini bibshorts, but I can't work out which is better between these two - I assume the pad is better in one than the other, but I know not which is the superior garment - can anyone shed any light on it for me??

Dan,
I haven't got either of those but I have got these:-
http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=product&wce=SHBSATG01&desc=SANTINI+TWIST+GEL+BIB+SHORTS
The first ones in your post appear (in the close up on the link) to be my material which is not the usual thin lycra but a thicker non shiny type which I find very comfortable. They do not have the twist gel insert like mine though, although your second pair do. I also find twist gel very comfortable.
If it was my choice, although a bit more expensive, of the three I would again go for mine as the best combination. Hope this helps."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0 -
I'd take the Twist Gel over the Top Chamois. I've not used the Top chamois, but I like the twist gel one a lot. The Newport lycra is somewhat thicker than normal. I wasn't going to order it for the team order, but I'm glad I did, because everyone liked it.0

Thanks gents,
I thikn you have convinced me on the twistgel, 59.99 appears to be the best pricec out there too.
Can anyone help me with sizing please?
I'm 5ft 10, 34" inside leg, shortish torso, and have around a 32" waist.
My gut instinct would be medium....?

I've just bought the ones with the top pad, just arriveed today.
They look very good quality.
I will be using them tomorrow so I'll let you know how I get on.
I ordered a large as I have 32" waist, 34"leg and am 6ft.
They look quite short on the leg length and look on the cosy side but as I said I will be trying them tomorrow. You may be in-between the medium and large size wise0 -
Hi Kafka,
that would be v useful if you could let me know, by PM if you like, and I will hold off ordering until I hear back from you.
Cheers

Ok rode in them today.
Very comfy and good quality.
Leg length wasn't as short as they looked out of packet. They are quite a snug fit but i would say the size (large) was perfect for me - i am a couple of inches taller at 6ft though
Waist 32 was just right.
Don't know if that helps or not0 -
Thanks very much Kafka,
I think the medium would probably do for me from what you say,
Cheers

Get the Twist Gel pair. The inset is so much better than either the Top or Coolmax inserts.0

Hello again all,
I ordered a set from gbcycles as posted elsewhere, and wrongly assumed that a 32 was a medium, it arrived as a large :?
Guess I should have queried it first.
I have tried it on, and it feels mainly ok, there is a bit of room/gathering around the area at elbow height when standing up, and the bits that go over your shoulder have a fair amount of play, and when I lean forward it feels like there is a fair amount of give.
Also the shorts bit feel fine and comfy, but aren't tight, and i guess I am wondering if they will loosen off as well with repeated wears/washes.
I guess this goes to anyone with a large pair of Santini bib shorts, what is the fit like, and how do they stretch with time?
My Nike ones are a pretty snug fit, and it's a bit of a struggle almost to get the shoulder straps over, on these it is easy, does that mean it will get really easy as time goes on?
Or should I send back and request a pair of 30's instead, which I assume are mediums?
Many thanks

Dan I can't think the medium would be right for you. I have the medium which fit me perfectly - I'm 5'8", 30" waist and 31" inside leg. Would actually prefer the leg to be a little longer but the slice twistgel insert is fantastic0

I think alas you are probably right SB,
I have just ordered the medium (30) and will compare them side by side, and send back whichever one is not as well fitting,
It's too pricey (in my eyes) to not get the perfect fit.
Cheers

The size chart on Prendas is different to the one found everywhere else including Santini's own chart... http://www.santinisms.it/en/products/sizing_instructions.aspx
Which one is more accurate?0 -

I was wondering about that too. For one thing, Prendas list an XS while Santini don't.
