Petrol pinching pennies

For the third time in a row I have put some fuel in the car, finished tanking up, put the nozzle back in its place, put the cap back on and checked the price £32.00. I then go in to pay and it's £32.01!!!
Now, I know I sound like a right miser over just 1p, but if that happens with everyone tanking up that day in petrol stations across the land you are talking some serious cash on top of the already inflated petrol prices.
The moral of the story I guess is park the car and ride the bike, but still it takes the pee and it happens far too often for my liking and my work colleagues have experienced the same on occasions which makes it all the more annoying.
Moan over :? , but has anyone else epxerienced the same?

Happened to me in my Local station. First time I thought it was me, clumsy barsteward I thought. 2nd time I thought no effing way, Im not paying them the 1p  . Marched in and told them that if it happened to me again I would have Trading Standards and the National Measurements Office crawling up their "Bums". Fellow behind the Counter told me not to worry about the penny. Which made me think even more that its deliberate. I go elsewhere now anyway.0 -
This has happened to me at a few times and glad to hear its not just me.
Think I will question it next time.0 -

I worked in a petrol station and there was a give a penny leave a penny pot for just such circumstances, at the end of the day if someone is 1 penny short then no-one is goin g to kick up a fuss and force them to pay :roll:winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

They run a scam at my local post office like that. You take a parcel in which has to be weighed to get the correct postal price, except the scales are already showing 3grammes before you even put it on. They probably make a few quid a week doing that to people. I didn't fall for it though.
Another post office nearby has twice passed counterfeit £20 notes to an OAP I know when he has drawn his pension money there.
He only found out because he takes the cash straight to his bank who told him the notes were duds.
All the Post offices here in the stinking metropolis where I live seem to have been taken over by the same 'type' of people.
I'm sure that's got nothing to do with it though!0 -
I have been asked to pay it a few times :shock:0

We get this sometimes in my work. It's just the way the VAT goes through. :?
Like, an order can come to £55, but the system has the price the store sells it for, then adds on tax. So a bunch of 0.04p's can all add up to become an extra penny.
