I'm off to Glentress for the first time at the weekend :D:D:D

Should I be taking my Marin Rocky Ridge or my Orange 5?

I'm guessing the Orange, but I've seen a few vids on t'web and it looks mainly smoothish track, so it made me think about the HT!

Any comments....

    FIVE !

Glentress was the first place I took my spanking new Five and the full suss was greatly appreciated, saying that, four mates rode £500 hardtails (including my old Giant XTC) and nobody complained they didn't have enough bike.

Make Sure you ride Innerleithen too while you're up there, its ruddy awesome !

HT for most runs at Glentress but I tend to reach for the Whyte E5 on the black trail just because of the extra comfort on this longer trail.

Prefer the FS for the Inners XC route which you must try if you have the time (as already mentioned).

  • Will be doing inners too so will be taking the five then!
  • you can do it all, GT and inners, on a hardtail, Inners would be ace on a full sus though. but a hardtail is spot on for GT, although the black becomes a bit of a slog, but then i doubt it'd be any different on a FS
i spent all me money on whisky and beer!!!
  • Well, I took the Orange, but kind of wish I'd taken the Marin :?
