Saw this and thought I would pose the question to other people to see if the reaction is as strong in this community as it was around the office today.

"Don't care" option? Didn't think there would be much call for it: in a recent Cake Stop poll "Rate your intelligence" only 5% answered "Below average". Sorry, I was catering for the majority of inquisitive and sentient beings on this forum.

The last thread we had on Israel brought to the surface some fairly upsetting attitudes so don't be surprised SK. I'm struggling to understand why someone would even bother to type that they 'don't care'. Obviously you have some kind of pride in that attitude? Makes me wonder what else you 'don't care' about, Stefano? Probably anything and everything that isn't to do with you having a nice time riding your bike :?:

I am always quite nervous about jumping to conclusions regarding Israel/Gaza....

On the face of it...I would hope that trained medical staff, who presumably value life, would never refuse treatment to someone who needs it....

But the media version of what is actually happening on the ground will be different to another media vendors account of the same story, so it is difficult.

The palestinians had their chance at self governing in gaza and they stuffed it for themselves. I have followed the Middle East for years now, Israel are becoming increasingly heavy handed but the Palestinians seem intent on stuffing themselves at every juncture by acting on passion, hatred and narcisstic tendencies toward Israel.

Thing is a lot of the worlds leaders have never forgotten that the reaction in gaza when 9/11was first reported was one of joy and victory, guns in the air and everyone in the streets dancing.

If intelligence gathering stops violence, then so be it.

Yes - they surely stuffed it for themselves didn't they?

Israel bulldozing schools, police stations, farms and homes, building illegal walls on Palestinian sovereign land, and shooting children in the street was clearly intended provide aid and support to a fledgeling Palestinain state.

the Palestinians dont need israel, don't want Israel and whilst the Israelis went in heavy handed the Palestinians were STILL firing rockets into Israel. Its not difficult, is it ?

In fact, i don't want Israel going into Gaza and bulldozing the place, makes them look positively Palestinian in their attitude.

Well considering mine was the 1st answer after 6 hours of the thread being live it certainly seemed to work

Maybe 'don't care' was a little insensitive but sat on a cycle forum creating a poll does nothing to help anyone
  • In November 1947 United Nations decided on partition of Palestine into a Jewish state, an Arab state, and a UN-administered Jerusalem. Partition was accepted by Zionist leaders but rejected by Arab leaders leading to the 1947–1948 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine. Israel declared independence on May 14, 1948 and neighboring Arab states attacked the next day. Since then, Israel has fought a series of wars with neighboring Arab states,

You believe anything the media tells you? One man's freedom fighter will always be another man's terrorist. You've witnessed this in London recently and you have a history of it for hundreds of years in the UK and all the countries you have "RULED". You not going to make a difference, rather get on ye bike and make observations about the fine weather we have been having.

Partition was rejected by the Arabs who favoured a single state, with the three main positions of power being shared by Muslims, Jews and Christians.
