Place to ride around Doncaster and South Yorkshire

Good mountain biking south of Doncaster is a bit thin on the ground. There are a couple of short singletrack sections but linking them all together almost always ends up riding on the road. I'm in Rossington so if you wanted to meet up for a bit of exploring let me know. Everyone always seems to rave about some of the quarries round Doncaster, but I've never tried 'em.0

Inspiring riding around here isn't up to much. We're off out in Sandall Beat woods this afternoon and after the weather we've had recently I'm expecting to get very muddy. Good to get out and ride but it's all flat.
@ Rob C: I might be out on the Roadie (early) Sunday morning if you fancy it? Kinda depends on the weather.1998 Marin Hawk Hill

I've been on Steetly (spelling) quarry a couple of times on my old downhill bike but to be blunt it's full of the traveller type folks on crossers looking enviously at your bike and probably planning on robbing it from you so I steered clear.
I'm trying to getmy brakes sorted out but as soon as I've done that and finished work I'm game, hop onto the other thread and we'll keep this organised, we should have our own section LOL

Half decent rides 'closest' to Tickhill are Wadworth & Edlington Woods and Barrow Hill the other side of Bawtry. There are also some bridleways wouth-east of Maltby that are okay to ride even if they're not that exciting.Starting Weight: 25 st 13.44 lbs - On: 20/05/09
