Refreshment stops on London To Brighton?

Probably a stupid question but it's been a very very long time since my last L2B.

I had planned to take a camelbac but then I got a lovely new jersey which is gorgeous but the bag leaves horrendous sweat marks, so I thought I'd travel light. Can I get away with just one drinks bottle on the bike and loads of gels in my pockets?

Will there be lovelies at the road side holding out water as I casually whizz by?

Also, anyone know what the weather will be like, cos I haven't got a decent pacable waterproof and am thinking I should get one...

:)

  • Last year there were loads of stops all with free water, dotted the whole way on the route most with toilets and also stalls selling nice reasonable priced snacks. I did it with 2 water bottles and kept refilling along the way. Take sachets of energy drink powder and add them into your water.
Def invest in a cheap packable wind/waterproof just in case. Chain reaction cycles has some nice cheap ones and adidas ones for £25 or so.

I'd def recommend getting a cheap second bottle cage and pick up some 750ml bottles.
    Sorted! :)

    Good news!

I have got another bottle and cage that I can add PSP22 to.

I'm off to CRC... thanks very much :D

I dunno about 'lovelies at the road side holding out water' more like old men in shorts, but whatever takes yer fancy eh? lol

But seriously, yes there are numerous stops for refreshments on the L2B route as I recall doing it some years ago.

    Hi

There are stops around every 5-10 miles, plus of course people sell water at the road side and you pass loads of shops, which all stock up of the event.

If push came to shove you could do it with no water bottle and just drink at each stop.

Enjoy L2B it is great fun.

Excellent! I'll just fill my bottles with sparkly for the finish - no wait, I have people waiting for that...
