I used to have an Alite 4000 frame. It was great - very light and responsive.

My experience of them dates back to 1993 when I borrowed a mates rigid steel XT equipped one a couple of times. It was great - really nice handling. It always surprised me that they didn't become more popular as they seem to represent good value. I'm not up to date with what they offer theses days.

I rode one of theirs a while back, a Flagstaff 29er. Handled beautifully despite its rather immense size, very very nicely made, but it weighed far too much. Still, full suss 29ers probably aren't typical of their range :) And it did ride very, very well.
