I am planning a trip to France and was wondering whether my bike is up to it. I have a Yeti 575 and was wondering whether is was man enough for the job or do I need soemthing a bit beefier?[/b]

Depends how you ride but for most of the stuff it'd be perfect. I'd imagine you'd have a bigger bike if you planned to drop a 20fter or gap the bigger jumps?

Riding in the alps vs England unless you are going to do things you normally wouldn't look at is all about slightly bigger tyres and good brakes in my experience. Possibly if you hit the DH courses when they are messed up with stutter bumps you might want a good mid travel DH rig but otherwise a Glory or V10 would only be needed if you are going massive IMHO.

My tip for the top is get as much insider info from people out there cos there are some great technical tracks in easy reach of the lifts that arent on the maps!
    Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.
