Hi Guys,

I'v been looking for MTB for ages and both the Genesis core 40 and Trek 8000 seem to tick all the boxes. I will be using it for trail / cross country riding.

Does anybody have experience of these? Would they both be good bikes no matter which one i choose, spec wise, usability etc...

Cheers

Paul

Both very good bikes. I ride a Core 20 and a Trek 6000 was on my shortlist of bikes. Rode them both and others and the Core just felt best.

Get on them, ride them about a bit. You will know which one feels right. Stump up the wonga, find a load of mud, get it dirty!

    Just be carfull.

I was getting a core 40 through the cycle to work scheme but I was informed today (4 weeks after the shop had supposedly ordered it) that Genesis have run out of stock of the 17.5" and the 19" framed versions.

So if it's the core you choose (I would) then be sure that you can get it from somewhere first otherwise you may be disapointed - I am!!!

Looking at the Genesis Altitude 2.0, the Boardman Pro, The Boardman Team FS and the Boardman Pro FS instead now.

They've been out of stock at Evans for a fair while now.

Yeh i noticed that on evans site bout the core 40 being not avalible, always a good sign if demand is high. I'v tried the core 20 cos they had one in store so wanted to try but they had a trek 8000 built up and it did look nice too.
