Hello all. My brother is looking for a new wheel set for his bike with a budget of £200. He s a bit chubby so rims must a bit sturdy. Bike being used for general trail riding and commuting. I ve suggested Mavic XM719 s on XT hubs. I ve got the same rims on pro 2s and rate them highly. But he only wants rims with scherader valves, not presta. which he is adament. Any suggestions welcome.
And he dont want tubeless.

719s are probably available for schraders, surely? My 717s are drilled for schrader and came with adaptors.Uncompromising extremist0

Will have a closer look at mine. Dont remember an adapter.0

If you can push the budget slightly, WinstanleysBikes have a full set of DT Swiss 5.1s on Hope Pro2 Hubs (Hope Hoops) for £228.
I have 719s and they have a plastic insert in the rim, presumeably if you take this out, you can use a schraeder valve instead of presta.0 -
