To make up for my alarm clock incident over last weekend, I hereby commit to:

(1) Getting up when my alarm clock rings at 5.30am on Saturday

(2) Come rain, or shine, getting out on my bike

(3) To laugh in the face of torrential rain

(4) To enjoy getting splattered with mud

(5) To not stop grinning when I get home....

(6) To rub Sexy Sadie* down lovingly and adoringly and whisper sweet nothings to her in the process....

(* my bike - don't worry! )

Signed, in virtual blood,

SJx

I spent the weekend cycling in rain and mud and it's actually quite awesome  The funniest part is when you get home and take your cycliing shorts off and it looks like you're wearing brown leg warmers

I like to think I had my first off... Though no one was around to see it, is this a one hand clapping, tree falling with no one around type thing? Does someone have to see it in order for it to have happened???

though the bruise on my bum was big enough proof!!!

No one has to see it to prove it..

The slight limp and strain that shows for the next few days is a give away sorry
  • Well - where do i start?

Managed to go over the handlebars trying to get the back wheel up (Note to self- don't squeeze the front break, brush it lovingly.) From that i have lovely bruised girly bits thanks to the handlebars but did get my feet on the ground.

Then, i went one way as the front wheel went the other and have scraped knee and big bruises on both legs and on my arm.

my flats don't like my right shin so currently i look like i've just had leg suregy and pins taken out.

I'm recovering now, but the scab keeps falling off and re-opening.

Is anyone else as klutzy on the bike? :?

HA HA..... I managed to fall BACKWARDS into a bush after deciding that it was a good idea to try and get up a steep hill thing , ended up leaving a Sleepylea shaped hole in a bramble bush, and a bum full of prickles!!!!
  • ERROR! how long did it take to get the brambles out?

I put my foot through the front spokes of a road bike once, and went right over the handle bars

Ooo, I did that on my mtb going to the station once. I tried to jump a curb, failed, but managed to leap off the bike and land on my feet before going head first into a wall. I got a round of applause for that one

    Done it.

In front of a group of walkers.

I pulled myself up, climbed on, rode past them, then nearly did it again when I had to stop for a horse
