Due to budgetry constraints I'm looking at buying a SRAM PG820 (only £12! from CRC) for my 8 speed commuter - anyone know what the black coating is ? will it make any difference? will it last?

It's paint. Won't make any difference, will wear off but only on the teeth. It's not a problem.0

Actually just bought the same cassette. Seems very good for the money - weighed only 315g too.0
