Surely there must be easier ways of getting a saddle to fit...?"We're not holding up traffic. We are traffic."0 -

that same numbing pain that seems to grow and grow and eventually end up in your gut that gets to the point where you let out one of those silent screams....yes I know what thats like...
I thought that's how it feels if you get an elbow in the boobs?0 -

Further from the comment on the previous thread, given the issues you are having finding a good fit - once again suggest getting a professional fit. It is money well spent. And don't cut that steerer just yet!
As for where to sit on the saddle - depends on what you are doing on the bike. I tend to move around a lot on the saddle - from moving right back when climbing to forward when attacking flats. Or when touring, just moving around to keep blood flowing.David

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could "break" a saddle in? I.e. ride it for a while and the saddle will sort of mould into a comfortable shape.
I changed the saddle on mine a while back for a Fizik one and it just wasn't quite as comfortable as the original despite the two of them being a nigh on identical size!
My advice would be to get another Spesh saddle like you have on the Giant, after all if it works for one it seems silly to have 2 different perches for each bike! One hint I remember reading on a bike tours site was to take your saddle and pedals with you if your hiring a bike so you still have your familiar contact points :-)
As for riding position I've never really given it much thought as I tend to shift about without realizing consciously but only really realize I've moved when I'm pulled right forward during a sprint.0
