Whats the deal with tubeless?

Hey
Got some XT wheels coming and wondering what the benifits of tubeless are?
I see some of the tyres are expensive, but what happens if you get a puncture, which you do a bit, is it harder to get a flat?
I know you are lighter as no tube, but heard they can be a pain.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

They can be
Tubeless ready tyres are pretty much standard tyre weight with a tubeless bead, designed to be used with solution. My Fast Traks are 480g each and use about 30g of Joes solution each. I'm getting a set of Mud X tubeless ready for next winter I think, as I've got one already from Bikeradar Live, 550g for a healthy wide 2.0".
Small thorns pretty much heal up instantly, you won't even notice them.0 -
Whats it like changing them?
Sounds like a messy job0 -
I'm a tubeless fan
I have no issues swapping tires over, i use a syringe to suck up left over sealant and reuse it.0
