It Has turned up in the Cleveland area which in effect is Middlesbrough. It is quite possible that it could have been stolen from further afield and brought to the force area.
I think a lot of organised bike thieves are traveling to steel bikes in what they call "soft" areas where peoplle are not so security concious as they should be. But that said if a thief wants something that bad they willl go to extroadinary lengths to get it.
I know what i am doing may seem pointless to many people but it just frustrates and angers me that when an expensive car is stolen it is placed onto the police national computer and can be traced anywhere in the country. When an expensive bike is stolen there is no such database.
As you know some peoples bikes are worth more than their cars, they effectively become untraceable as all police forces have seperate computer systems and without telephoning every single police force in the country to check if they have a record of a stolen bike it becomes impossible to trace.
But i will keep trying and hopefully have some joy and make someone happy to get their bike back and also prosecute a few thieves along the way.
