Now that I have my bike and pretty much everything I need (and thanks to those who gave me their advice), I am now considering my specs options.

I don't want to spend a lot and have seen some cheap triple lense by Endura and a few others. Anyone got any good tips on these?

However, my main question is, I already own some Oakley Half Jackets with a Mirrored blue polarised lens and am I therefore better off spending almost £50 and getting some Persimmon and Clear lenses?

    Hello mate,
just picked up my genesis today and just had a quick spin around the block. The difference compared to my halfords BSO is immense.

I wear oakley halfjackets as well however ive also got a pair of DHB triple lens which are by far a better fit, they never move and keep everything out of my eyes including the wind on descents unlike the halfjackets

    I got these http://www.bloceyewear.com/Sunglasses_S ... 122-3.html

Really comfy, have a variety of lenses and are great at reducing glare and keeping dirt out of my eyes.

I've just bought some Bolle ESP's for £6.99 thanks to Surf_matt who suggested them. They are very very good and £6.99 for Bolle's...can you go wrong?

These are £15 but shop around because they are around for cheaper!

    Cheers guys.

Deffler, gald you like the Core. I am still waiting for my first proper ride but done my knee in last Saturday and is still swollen, bl00dy beer on the dance floor!! I have seen the DHBs and I think can even get them free with a sub to Mountain Biking UK (that or some Altura Mayhem's which I already have) but I know the Half Jacket XLJs fit my face like a glove and have used them up mountains, boarding, many a time. Did notice a bit of wind in my eyes at times though.

Also will take a look at the Blocs and Bolles, thanks Airenteer and KernowCW.

I take it you all think some cycle specific cheapo specs would be a better option than the Oakleys.

Personally I would upgrade the Oakleys you already have, the lenses are much better quality, no view distortion and very strong.

I ride with Bolle Warrant glasses, these are similar to the Oakley range, RRP at around £95, but can be bought for as little as £67.99 if you google them, again you can purchase an array of different lenses and it's worth shopping for prices. These are the lightest glasses I could find and virtually indestructible, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

The cheaper Bolles on E-Bay are nowhere near the same quality lenses or frames as their premium glasses, don't be fooled by a good make at a budget price, no comparison.
