Has anybody seen or heard anything about the new xxx banshee?
I was talking to a guy the other day who said he had one ordered with halfords and yet they don't have any info on one or any web page showing one, bit strange don't you think.
I mean it's a bit late in the year to be bringing out a new bike and calling it the 09 version, then again maybe not, who knows.
Anyway any info would be good, i have the 08 model and i'm happy with it but would like to see what differences they have made for 09.

There's a couple of new ones out for 09 in the stores, the Fury 09 is out and the Carrera Virtuoso 09 but no sign of the Banshee xXx

there is no xxx its just a nickname given to the 09 bike as 3 3's are nine.

08 is better and why i recently got 1

    08:

    mavic rims
    tektro augria comp discs

    09:
    single track rims
    avid juicy 9's

the main differences between the o8 n 9

08 in my opinion is best so far and after 2 weeks of mine i am considering marrying it

Actually, there is a XXX here is the 08 model: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... x-08-32168

And as for the X, i think halfords put different parts on different bikes coz my 2008 model has singletrack rims not mavic.

Nah, that's not right, the XXX does exist but isn't currently on the website- it's a 6" travel full suss with Domains. They had one in my local branch til quite recently but haven't restocked, now they just have the standard Banshee and the X. Looked quite a nice machine, though the wheel choice was odd, it's a big heavy slack 6" bouncer so why fit lightweight singletracks?

I think the 08 model was probably only done in limited numbers and sold out, which is why there's nothing current on the site.

I have the 08 model myself which is white with domains and the single track sunn rims and belive me those wheels ain't light.
It is a great bike but as you say a wee bit heavy.
I live in Ireland and as far as i know i had the last one over here so they are thin on the ground, but the guy i was talking too said that they can still be ordered from the bike hut factory no problem (thats what he was told in halfords anyway) they said they could get him an 09 version if he prefered so he said yes. No i'm just wondering if they are going to try and palm him off with a 08 model and tell him it's a 09 based on the fact that there just ain't no info to be had anywhere on the 09 bike.
I'm just very sceptical about this 09 version

He's taking delivery of the bike this tuesday so i'm looking forward to see what turns up.

I found it but i must say my first impressions arn't great, the colour is gak and why change the Domain fork for that marzocchi 55? no where near as good a fork in my opinion.

Oops, yep, you're spot on about those rims- I was confusing them with the XC Suns because of the name!

Heh, copy and paste job on the bike spec, apparently the zocchis have motion control...
